A BIT ABOUT US

ApartmentJet is a seed stage startup with a live and rapidly growing technology product.  Our co-founders have previously developed and launched several technology solutions in the multifamily apartment space with multiple successful exits between them.

Apartment sharing and short term rentals are today’s Wild West for the Multifamily apartment industry. A shift is happening. It’s hard to see, and it’s difficult to manage, but it’s full of opportunity. We provide owners and operators of apartment communities the portfolio-level visibility, control, revenue opportunity, and power to maintain a sense of community that’s too easily sacrificed in today’s sharing economy.

We’re based out of Chicago and offer flexibility (i.e. work from Starbucks, if you choose), competitive compensation, healthcare benefits, and the excitement of being part of an early stage startup. This is a great chance to get in early with an exciting, young company as we prepare for takeoff!

Market Development Specialist

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently hiring for a Market Development Specialist. This is a new and exciting role for our team. We need someone ready to step in and run with it, so if you’re expecting six months of training and how-to videos this might not be for you.

The Market Development Specialist will have the freedom to research, contact, and schedule online demonstrations and conversations with our leadership team to add new communities to our platform. Think you can handle the following ultra important responsibilities?

  • Gaining an understanding of the short term and extended stay opportunity within the apartment industry
  • Calling, emailing, and using online sources (i.e. LinkedIn) to engage new prospective communities
  • Researching and building a database of prospective communities
  • Interact with prospective clients and evangelize the revenue potential of the sharing economy
  • Coordinate and schedule online meetings between prospective clients and ApartmentJet’s leadership team to add communities to the platform

As our new Market Development Specialist, you will be expected to find new client prospects, educate those prospects on the sharing economy, schedule meetings and follow up on outstanding contracts to add new apartments/listings on ApartmentJet.

  • Energetic, funny, ethical, outgoing and ready to take on any challenge
  • You must be a great communicator
  • Not shy around technology and comfortable working with a platform that is changing the way the world looks at their residential living experience
  • Multitask! We’re a startup so if you think you can hide in the corner and do one job all day think again!
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • You’ll be interacting with prospective clients and some of our long time friends in the industry so you must be professional, respectful and nice
  • Team player who can easily adapt in a rapidly changing environment
  • Basic understanding of the sharing economy (i.e. Airbnb, HomeAway, VRBO, etc…)
  • Desires to grow into a world class consultative sales professional
  • Looks forward to challenges and opportunities to grow within our company
COMPENSATION

We offer a competitive starting  salary of $25k – $30k annually with unlimited commission potential, we pay 100% of your health insurance, and more!

LOCATION & CONTACT

Majority of work will be performed remote/work from home with ability to meet at 1871 Chicago or in the Western Burbs (Naperville) area at least once per week initially.
